Robert V. Lotmore
Treasurer
Mr. Lotmore is a retired Accountant & Banker. In July of 2017, he was appointed Chairman of the Securities Commission of the Bahamas. During January 2019 he was appointed Director and Treasurer of the Bahamas Protector Areas Fund.
Mr. Lotmore has had more than thirty-five years of service in the financial industry, beginning his career as an Auditor, and evolving professionally through the positions of Financial Controller and Partner in a major international accounting firm. He was a principal in Thorand Bank and Trust, which was acquired by the Bank of N.T. Butterfield of Bermuda in August 2003. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lotmore was President, Managing Director, and Head of The Bahamas Division of Butterfield Bank.
In 2004, The Board of Directors of the Association of International Banks and Trust Companies appointed him as their Chairman. Mr. Lotmore was the first Bahamian to hold this prestigious position. He is a past Director of the Bahamas Financial Services Board. Mr. Lotmore is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
He is a past President of the Rotary Club of East Nassau and former Chairman of the Board of St. Andrew’s School. He has been appointed a Director of several Bahamian companies and in the past, was a governmental appointee to the Gaming Board of The Bahamas. Additionally, he has volunteered as Treasurer of: The Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants, The Bahamas Red Cross Raffle, Lyford Cay School and Project Read.
