Lakeshia Anderson-Rolle is the first female Executive Director of The Bahamas National Trust (BNT), with 17 years of experience in natural resource management. She started in this role on January 1st, 2023, and formerly served as the organization’s Director of Parks for 6 years. Under this role, she had oversight of park operations for 32 national parks and protected areas, and responsibility for overseeing training, communications and staffing for the Parks Department. Lakeshia received a BSc in Marine and Environmental Science from Hampton University in VA, with her years of experience spanning across the areas of environmental planning, project management, grant and proposal writing, stakeholder engagement and marine species & habitat monitoring. Lakeshia has significantly contributed to conservation efforts in The Bahamas and was instrumental in the expansion of The Bahamas National Protected Area System to meet international obligations for the Caribbean Challenge Initiative of meeting the goal of 20% marine protection by 2020.
